Hedge laying

Hedge laying in progress
Busy trying to find time in between over night heavy frosts and day time blizzards to lay hedges. The photo shows work in progress near Standedge tunnel, Marsden. The work is for Enviromental Allience/Kirklees Council. It’s a mixed hedge (with too many overstood ash trees!) Once I’ve layed the whole hedge I will twist in or trim any ends sticking out too much. There is no binder for the top in this style of hedge (an approximate Westmoreland style). Photo kindly taken by Mark Fuggle (while he was walking the dog)
